Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has unveiled a new exhibition displaying wreckage from US and Israeli military aircraft, including debris from an F-15 fighter jet being shown publicly for the first time. The display was featured in a teaser released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, showcasing the pilot's ejection seat, part of the fighter jet's canopy and a section of its tail.
The exhibition underscores Tehran's ongoing effort to project military strength and self-reliance following a 12-day war, during which the IRGC claims to have developed and deployed an indigenous air defense system. The display of captured and destroyed equipment from Western adversaries serves as both a propaganda tool and a signal of Iran's evolving defense capabilities.
The exhibition features wreckage from multiple US and Israeli aircraft, alongside downed drones and missiles. The F-15 debris, reportedly being displayed publicly for the first time, includes the pilot's ejection seat, a portion of the fighter jet's canopy and a section of its tail. The collection also incorporates remnants from other destroyed military platforms.
IRGC Spokesman General Hossein Mohebbi previously stated that following the 12-day war, the IRGC Aerospace Force was ordered to develop a domestic air defense capability. According to Mohebbi, the project was completed rapidly and resulted in a new indigenous air defense system that was subsequently used during what he described as the imposed war. He further claimed the system successfully intercepted an F-35 fighter during the conflict.
During the same period, the IRGC conducted retaliatory missile and drone strikes against US military bases in the region. Those operations reportedly damaged or destroyed numerous pieces of American military equipment, including radar systems, air defense systems, AWACS and aerial refueling aircraft, both manned and unmanned fighter aircraft, and aircraft shelters.
General Mohebbi's remarks, originally provided to Tasnim, frame the exhibition as a tangible outcome of the IRGC's accelerated military development program. The spokesman emphasized the speed at which the indigenous air defense system was designed and deployed, as well as its reported combat effectiveness against advanced Western aircraft including the F-35.
The exhibition is currently on display, with the IRIB teaser offering the first public glimpse of the collected wreckage. No further details have been released regarding the exhibition's duration, location or whether additional items will be added.
