Immediate Export Restrictions and Entity Blacklisting
China's commerce ministry announced that all shipments of drones, their key components and related technologies to the US will now face "strict case-by-case scrutiny," with the controls taking effect immediately. The ministry cited the need to "safeguard national security and meet China's international commitments on non-proliferation" as justification for the curbs.
Simultaneously, six US entities were added to China's countermeasures list, prohibiting Chinese companies and individuals from any form of cooperation with them. The ministry described their conduct as "egregious," alleging they assisted US sanctions related to China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
A seventh company, Compliance Testing LLC, was separately blacklisted for assisting the US Federal Communications Commission in introducing measures that Beijing says "endanger China's sovereignty."
