The SCO Media and Think Tank Summit

The summit has brought together approximately 200 representatives from media organizations, think tanks, and related institutions from 25 countries. It is being held under the theme "The Shanghai Spirit in the New Era: From Shared Values to Practical Cooperation."

Mehr Media Group is the sole representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran attending the event. The summit's agenda focuses on developing media cooperation, strengthening interaction between media and think tanks, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and combating disinformation.

The signing aligns with Mehr Media Group's stated strategy of expanding media cooperation with organizations from SCO member states, observer countries, and dialogue partners to increase media interactions among regional countries.

Bilateral Media Engagement

The memorandum explicitly emphasizes the development of bilateral media cooperation and the strengthening of ties between journalists and media professionals of both organizations. By facilitating mutual access to media capacities, the agreement aims to create sustainable channels for ongoing collaboration rather than one-off exchanges.

The inclusion of professional journalism training as a cooperation area signals an intent to build long-term institutional capacity alongside immediate content-sharing arrangements.
