An unidentified perpetrator or group has been blamed for a series of assaults in Lagos de Moreno and has been nicknamed the “Batman of Lagos de Moreno” on social media, according to Voice of Urdu.
Between June 12 and June 19, five people were reportedly beaten and left tied to lamp posts using large amounts of duct tape, with the word “rat” written in Spanish on their foreheads, Voice of Urdu reported.
Images circulating online showed one person with his pants pulled down, and in one incident two young men were tied to the same post, according to Voice of Urdu.
Bright pink banners describing the men’s alleged wrongdoing were taped above their heads, and motorcycles said to have been stolen were left parked at the scenes, Voice of Urdu reported.
The Jalisco state prosecutor’s office confirmed it is investigating and said the targeted men are considered victims, according to Voice of Urdu. Separately, recent violence in Mexico has drawn attention in other incidents such as Mayoral candidate killed at campaign rally in Mexico's Guerrero state.
